Bambu Lab PETG Basic Filament – Strong and Tough PETG for Functional Parts

Bambu Lab PETG Basic is a versatile PETG filament for strong functional parts, tools and durable everyday models. Its optimized material formulation achieves almost the same strength as PLA Basic while retaining the characteristic toughness of PETG. This allows printed parts to withstand high loads and impacts without becoming brittle too quickly. Improved resistance to water, UV radiation and elevated temperatures also makes the filament suitable for many outdoor applications. Its lower moisture sensitivity additionally reduces stringing and enables smoother surfaces with clearly defined details.

Strong PETG Filament for Load-Bearing Functional Parts

The new formulation of Bambu Lab PETG Basic combines high mechanical strength with excellent impact resistance. With a flexural strength of up to 75 MPa, the material performs almost at the same level as Bambu Lab PLA Basic while offering significantly greater resistance to impact loads.

This makes the PETG filament particularly suitable for load-bearing household components, brackets, supports and other practical constructions. Its strong layer adhesion also ensures stable and reliable printing results for parts that are subjected to regular mechanical stress.

Printed models feature smoother outer surfaces, cleaner edges and sharper details. For consistently high print quality, thoroughly drying the filament is still recommended, especially after prolonged storage in environments with elevated humidity.

Recommended Drying and Storage

For optimal printing results, Bambu Lab PETG Basic should be dried before use. This is particularly important if the filament has been exposed to a relative humidity above 50% for more than 72 hours.

After drying, the filament should be stored in an airtight container with desiccant or printed directly from a suitable drying system. A relative humidity below 20% is recommended during both printing and storage.

Tips for Printing with PETG Basic

PETG Basic can adhere particularly strongly to PEI build plates. After printing, the build plate should therefore be allowed to cool completely before carefully removing the model.

Cooling makes removal easier and reduces the risk of damaging the underside of the part or the surface of the build plate. For demanding models, the print parameters should also be adjusted to suit the geometry, nozzle diameter and desired surface quality.
